His interactive stick installations explore the ability of primitive building techniques and are constructed on the grounds of museums, universities, botanical gardens, and private homes. If you’re in the American Northwest, then be sure to visit the first comprehensive retrospective exhibit highlighting the works of one of the founding fathers of American Modernism, George Nelson (1908-1986). Over 220 objects will likely be on display, including his iconic Coconut Chair, Bubble Lamde and the Marshmallow Sofa, and picture works, his modern clocks (pictured), architectural models, films, prints and a full‐scale partial reconstruction of the 1959 American National Exhibition in Moscow. The exhibition was originally organized by the Vitra Design Museum in Germany in 2008, and observes the work of one of the greatest designers of the 20th century.
