How to Cut an Interior Door in Half

An interior door has to be cut to a door or to make worktops. Sometimes, a door that is busted is cut in half for disposal. Whether you’re intending to cut a core or solid wood door, it is important first to eliminate the hinges, door handles and other hardware. The work locations to cut a door in half are at an outdoor area that has a horizontal surface or even a workshop.

Place two sawhorses parallel. Cut two pieces of utility timber as supports. Lie the supports horizontal atop the sawhorses, 24 inches apart and parallel.

Place the door flat with the lengthy center line between the supports, on top of the supports. The supports necessary or reposition the door is balanced and stable.

Measure the door’s period and split it in half to set up the door’s midpoint. Mark the midpoint on the surface of the door on each side.

Mark a line between the midpoint marks with a chalk line. Mark a straight piece of wood and a pencil on the line if there is a chalk linen’t available.

Put on safety glasses. Put of a saw blade 1/8 inch deeper than the thickness of the door. Cut the door in half in the line with the circular saw.
