How to Troubleshoot a GE Trivection Range

General Electric’s Trivection ranges use the ability of a microwave to make cooking on your oven faster. A Trivection range may make life easier in the kitchen, but issues can crop up occasionally that prevent it from operating properly. Some problems may take a service a call, but you can troubleshoot a few of the most common concerns yourself, which means you are back to preparing food as swiftly as possible.

Range Doesn’t Operate

If your scope won’t work, then check to find out if it’s getting power. Make sure that the range’s plug is securely inserted into a functional, grounded socket. Examine your home’s fuse box or circuit breaker to determine if there’s a issue, and replace a blow fuse or reset the breaker if necessary. If you’re attempting to use the surface units, verify that you have set the correct control to your burner which you’re using. With the oven, then you must reach the Start button after choosing a cooking mode and fever setting for your oven to heat.

Food Doesn’t Speed-Cook

The Trivection technology at the range uses a microwave to assist with cooking so that you can prepare food quickly. In case the speed-cook feature doesn’t seem to be operating, check the controls to make sure you’ve chosen Speedcook mode from the primary menu and the corresponding rate manner, like Speed Modes or Speed Broil. Then hit Start and then wait for the oven to preheat — the screen will read “Place Food at Oven” when it is fully preheated. Hit the Start button once you place the food inside. If you have set the controls properly, ensure the oven rack is level and the door is closed completely. Employing the correct cookware also makes a difference — heavy aluminum pans with low sides work best in the oven.

Self-Cleaning Issues

In case your oven won’t input self-cleaning mode, its temperature might be too high for self-cleaning. Allow it to cool for many minutes and then reset the controls. If you notice excessive smoke during the self-cleaning manner, then the oven is heavily mediated. Alter the Clear/Off button and then open several windows to clear your kitchen of smoke. When you see the lock icon disappear from the screen, open the oven and then wipe off some of the surplus issue before restarting the self-clean cycle. In case your oven still looks dirty after the cycle finishes, the oven might have been too dirty to clean with a single self-clean cycle. Set the oven to self-clean another time.

Reveals Error Codes

In case “ERR” appears in a GE Trivection range’s screen, a fever was chosen that doesn’t fall within the allowable 170 to 550 degrees Fahrenheit. Reset the fever within those parameters. When an F and a number or letter flash in the screen, it is a function error code. To reset the range, hit the Clear/Off button and then let the oven cool for one hour. If the code looks, disconnect the power for at least 30 seconds. Reconnect the power and verify the screen. If the code appears once more, contact GE in the contact number in your owner’s manual for service.
