The Way to Keep a Toilet Bowl Brush From Turning Yellow

The more diligent you’re about keeping your toilet bowl clean, the further stained and yellowed your bathroom brush is very likely to get. That discoloration is not just decorative — if you do not clean your brush regularly, it’s guaranteed to be coated in bacteria that are parasitic. There’s no need to displace a discolored brush — to keep your bathroom as sterile as possible and restore your toilet bowl brush to pristine white, disinfect the brush every few weeks, until it starts to turn yellow.

Hold the bathroom brush close to the top interior the toilet bowl. Flush the toilet, and allow the water to flow across the brush and then rinse it. Twist the brush so the water hits it from all angles.

Place rubber gloves to protect your skin. Fill a bucket with 3/4 cup of household bleach and 1 gallon of water. Immerse the brush for five minutes.

Remove in the bleach solution. Wash it in the sink with soap and water. If it’s still yellow, repeat the whitening process and wash it again.

Pour the bleach solution down the drain. Run the water in the faucet for five minutes to flush out the bleach out of your plumbing. Wash out the bucket with soap and water.
